Privacy Policy

For the game Water Sort and this website · Last updated: 5 October 2026

The short version: there is no account, no sign-up, no analytics and no server of ours. Your progress is saved on your own device and never sent to us. The only information that leaves your device is the ordinary technical data any app or website sends when it downloads something — mainly a font from Google, explained in section 4.

1. Who this policy is from

This policy explains how Water Sort ("the game", "we") handles information. The game is developed and published by Portal Design Studio. It covers the game in all the forms we publish it — the web version at water-sort-cats.netlify.app and the Android app — as well as this website.

It does not cover Google Play, which distributes the Android app and has its own privacy policy.

2. What we collect

Nothing. Water Sort does not ask for, collect or send to us:

  • names, email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses;
  • accounts, logins or social network profiles;
  • contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera input;
  • location, precise or approximate;
  • usage analytics, event tracking or crash reports.

We do not operate a server for the game, so there is nowhere for your information to go on our side. If you email us, we receive what you choose to write, and use it only to reply.

3. What stays on your device

So you can pick up where you left off, the game saves a small amount of game data in your browser's storage or, in the Android app, in the app's own private storage. It contains only game state:

  • the levels you have unlocked and the stars earned on each;
  • coins, lives and the items collected from reward chests;
  • your daily-challenge results, streak and daily-spin status;
  • achievements, and the bottles, themes and cats you have unlocked or chosen;
  • your settings: sound and music volume, and vibration.

The game also keeps a backup copy of your last good save on the same device, so a failed write can't erase your progress. None of this is uploaded anywhere. We cannot see it, and other apps and websites cannot read it.

4. Services the game connects to

Downloading anything from the internet means your device sends the server some basic technical information: your IP address, your browser or device type, and the time of the request. The game itself sends nothing about how you play. These are the only services involved:

  • Google Fonts. The game loads its lettering (the Fredoka One font) from Google's font service, fonts.googleapis.com. Google receives the request information described above. See the Google Fonts privacy FAQ and Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Netlify hosts the web version of the game, and Vercel hosts this website. Like any web host, they process request information to deliver the pages and keep them secure. See the Netlify and Vercel privacy policies.

This website does not use cookies, analytics or any third-party scripts. Its fonts and images are served from the site itself.

5. Advertising

The current version of Water Sort does not contain any advertising network. Where the game offers an ad — for example, to earn extra coins — it shows a short placeholder in place of a real ad, and no data is sent anywhere.

If we add real advertising in the future, an ad provider will collect some device information in order to show and measure ads. We will update this policy before that version is released, describing exactly what is collected and how to limit it, and where the law requires it, the game will ask for your consent first.

6. Device permissions

The Android app requests only one permission: Internet access, used to load the font described in section 4. It does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files. The game can make your phone vibrate briefly during play, if vibration is on in the settings — this needs no permission and collects nothing.

The game does not send push notifications.

7. Children

Water Sort is a casual puzzle game suitable for a general audience. Because the game does not collect personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information — for example, by email — contact us and we will delete it.

8. Deleting your data

Because your data lives only on your device, you are in full control of it:

  • Android app: uninstall the game, or go to Settings → Apps → Water Sort → Storage → Clear data.
  • Web version: clear the site data for water-sort-cats.netlify.app in your browser's settings.

Either way, your progress is erased permanently. We keep no copy, so we cannot restore it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation — you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, or to object to how it is used. Since we hold no personal data about players, there is normally nothing for us to give you or delete, but you are welcome to contact us with any request and we will answer it. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Changes to this policy

If the way the game handles information changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date at the top before the change reaches players. Significant changes, such as adding advertising, will be described here in full.
